Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from March of that year.

The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and regular reactions on court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better service.

He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional title, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a close final set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
